Job Summary:

French polishers meticulously restore and enhance the natural beauty of wood surfaces, specializing in antique furniture. Responsibilities include cleaning, staining, and applying shellac finishes, ensuring preservation of original craftsmanship.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Ensure preventive and reactive maintenance tasks are performed according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and correctly recorded.
• Repair all aspects of the Hotels interior and exterior wood works, furniture and fixtures, walls, floors, doors with a variety of finishes liaising with carpenter as required to match existing finish.
• Attend to varnishing of items such as doors, windows, timber panels and furniture.
• Carry out spray painting of equipment, furniture or related surfaces as required.
• Assessment of the condition of the ship and its equipment
• Formulating and controlling future repair programs with allocated budgets, whilst negotiating at a management level with suppliers and external contractors and other relevant organization
• Ensure that the standard of workmanship is maintained throughout the properties to comply with the Five Star rating of Service
• Meet with Contractors for any maintenance or repairing works.Coordinate, monitor, and check contractors work development.
• Coordinate with other departments pertaining to Engineering works that may affect their operation
• Attend briefings, as required.
• Maintain good relationships with colleagues and contribute to team spirit.
• Cooperate and interact with other departments to provide additional/outstanding guest services.
