Marina Mechanic
Job Summary:
Assist in all daily operational requirements of all in-house vessels; carry out routine servicing to members and guests vessels on service contracts. Maintain workshop to operational standards with health and safety and high quality standards as priority.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure credit pre-authorisation documents are filled in correctly and that all the relevant information is with the office before any work orders commence. (Quotes)
- Make sure all procedures are followed when orders and purchases are made.
- Ensure cash float (petty cash) is in order with correct receipts etc.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work surrounding within the Marina Workshop
- Accurate completion of service reports
- Carry out services, repairs & electrical works when required on in house vessels and members vessels
- Assist in guest break-downs and recovery when required
- Assist in final securing of members vessels if transit from the marina is required
- Assist in the accurate completion of incident/accident reports if any issue arises
- Assist in the accurate completion of scrap reports to remove any old equipment from workshop (coordinate with cost control)
- Liaise with the office related to any spare parts required for all in-house vessels and members vessels, prepare required store or purchase requests
- Repair and maintenance of engines and components on work order requests (Overtime hours required in the event of deadlines)
- Engine rebuilds
- GRP repair and fabrication
- Stainless Steel welding and fabrication
- Gel coat painting and filling
- Assist where ever necessary the marina team in any additional duties related to marina operations
- Assist in CAPEX budgeting for new tools and required equipment to conclude the workshops requirements
Experience and Skills:
- Marina mechanic qualification, Fiberglass/Gel coat repair, stainless steel welding and electrical certification
- At least 5 years’ experience in a marina mechanic/ workshop operators position
- Full understanding on computer systems related to engine servicing
- English – Level 2 minimum
