Director of Marketing
Job Summary:
The Director of Marketing is responsible for developing and executing the resort’s marketing strategy across rooms, dining, wellness and experiences, ensuring brand alignment, and driving revenue through targeted campaigns. This role involves managing external agencies, social media content creation, and ensuring all communication reflects the resort’s positioning. The role requires a deep understanding of luxury hospitality, digital marketing trends, and strategic partnerships to enhance visibility in key markets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Brand & Marketing Strategy
- Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy to enhance the resort’s brand positioning and awareness in line with global and regional objectives.
- Ensure all communication, visuals, and messaging are aligned with the resort’s premium positioning.
- Collaborate closely with the General Manager, Commercial and Corporate teams to drive room bookings, F&B revenue, wellness and experiences.
- Oversee the production of marketing materials, including brochures, website content, photography, and video assets.
Social Media & Content Management
- Oversee the creation and curation of engaging social media content across all platforms.
- Manage community engagement, influencer collaborations, and digital campaigns to enhance reach and engagement.
- Ensure all content meets brand standards and aligns with the resort’s unique positioning in the Maldives.
- Monitor social media trends and implement innovative strategies to keep the resort at the forefront of digital engagement.
Website Management:
- Collaborate with creative and content teams to ensure the website reflects the brand’s identity, vision, and messaging, through cohesive copy and visuals.
- Coordinate the development and refresh of website content (copy, images, and multimedia) to maintain brand consistency and engage visitors with a compelling narrative.
- Ensure all website elements, including copy and visuals, are in line with the brand’s overall strategy and positioning, enhancing user experience and emotional connection with the brand.
- Work with corporate in-house designer and e-commerce resource to update the website’s layout and design, ensuring it aligns with the brand’s aesthetic and enhances visual storytelling.
- Monitor brand representation on the website, ensuring all content is regularly reviewed and optimized to reflect the latest campaigns, brand tone, and product offerings.
- Ensure compliance with brand guidelines in all website content and work with external agencies to maintain consistency across all digital touchpoints.
Public Relations & Media Engagement
- Develop and execute PR campaigns to secure media coverage in key global and regional markets.
- Maintain relationships with journalists, media partners, influencers, and key opinion leaders.
- Oversee press releases, media pitches, and FAM trips to generate positive exposure.
- Monitor media coverage and ensure timely reporting of key PR wins.
Agency & Partnership Management
- Manage external marketing, PR, and creative agencies to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Develop strategic partnerships with travel platforms, luxury brands, and tourism boards to drive brand visibility.
- Oversee marketing budgets and ensure cost-effective allocation of resources.
Advertising & Digital Performance
- Lead digital marketing efforts, including paid media, SEO, email marketing, and performance tracking.
- Work closely with Corporate Marketing and Revenue team to optimize direct bookings through the resort website.
- Analyze data and adjust campaigns based on performance metrics to maximize return on investment.
Events & Activations
- Plan and execute brand activations, media events, and influencer collaborations.
- Ensure all on-property events align with the resort’s branding and marketing objectives.
Experience and Skills:
- College/University degree or equivalent
- Desirable Marketing or Digital Marketing qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience
- Proficient in English (additional language related to one of the main feeder markets)
