Job Summary:

This position is responsible for managing the operations of housekeeping and laundry areas to ensure the achievement of departmental productivity objectives and service quality standards that is consistent with the SBU’s SOP.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Resolve problems arising from guests' complaints, related to general housekeeping and unusual requests and inquiries during the operations.

• Develop a working environment that support organizational and brand standards.

• Perform spot checks on the linen room and pantry areas to ensure the smooth flow of guest supplies, uniform and linen.

• Perform complete rounds of all public areas, guest floors, back of house areas, fire exit stairs and the pantries on a daily/ weekly basis ensuring cleanliness and maintenance are to standards at all times.

• Observe performance of housekeeping associates to ensure that they adhere to hotel policies and established operating procedures.

• Check and ensure all activities of housekeeping operations are in accordance with the plan for major functions and conferences etc.

• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction in assigning and instructing housekeeping and laundry associates in details of work.

• Meet with suppliers of various items.

• Cross check all VIP rooms on a daily basis and the condition of “out of order” rooms on a daily basis.

• Perform random spot checks on departure rooms, occupied rooms and vacant rooms on a daily basis. Handle guest complaints or problems promptly with the coordination of the Front Office or Duty Manager and communicate all results, resolved/unresolved to the Resident Manager.
